We are in our Element

Counting down with just three weeks to go, as we put the finishing touches to what

will be another great Creativity Dance Studios (CDS) show.

In preparation for our special day which began back at the start of term three, we

operate in an all inclusive team environment, deciding first what the show theme will

be. Students then get to contribute by sharing their thoughts on the music they

would like to dance to. We always appreciate any input the students have, as we

experiment with the choreography and incorporate their ideas into each dance.

From there, students spend time each week in class learning the dances, sometimes

breaking into small groups, which can often make it easier to learn the steps.

As the show gets closer, the students get to choose what they would like to wear on

stage and put their ideas forward as to what the CDS show day programme will look

like.

It’s not long to go now as the excitement builds towards our CDS show ‘In our Element’ on

stage, Saturday November 21st , 4pm at the Centenary Theatre in Williamstown.

On show day before the audience take to their seats, we will have ‘a go’ on the stage

so that the students can get comfortable and a get a feel for the space.

Come early, grab a drink and enjoy some sweet treats at our candy bar before the show! And when the final curtain falls, don’t rush off the bar will stay open so we can come together, celebrate our incredible dancers, and keep the energy and excitement of the showcase alive. It’s a chance to reconnect, catch up with familiar faces, make new connections, and soak up the amazing energy that makes the CDS community so special.

Students, this is your special moment, where you get to dance and perform in front

of family and friends. Whether you are new this year or have been dancing at CDS

for a few years, it’s ok to feel a bit nervous before you go on stage; that is all part of

the experience.

Everyone have fun at our CDS show – you will be in your element!
