Casey Donovan! Absolute Celebrity!

From being the youngest person to win the Australian Idol at the age of 16 in 2004,

Casey Donovan has spent the last two decades bringing her incredibly powerful

voice to the stage in numerous theatrical productions.

Casey Donovan, a multi-award-winning artist, is an Indigenous Australian from the

Gumbaynggirr and Dungari people and comes from a family with a musical

background.

Her career began with the debut single, “Listen To Your Hear”, spending two weeks

on the Australian charts. Three months later, she released her second single,

“What’s Going On”, which peaked at number 18 on the Aria charts and that same

year, Casey won Single Release of the Year for "Listen with Your Heart"; and Artist of the Year at the Deadly Awards, an historical celebration of Aboriginal and Torres

Straight Islander achievements, now known as the National NAIDOC Awards.

Since being approached to be a part of the all Indigenous and Torres Straight

Islander cast of the opera “Miracle” at the Brisbane Festival in 2009, Casey has

since starred in many major theatre productions, whilst continuing to release more

singles.

She created the role of Mama Cass in the world premiere of “The Mamas and Papas the

Papas story.” Other musicals include “The Sapphires”, “We Will Rock You”, “9 to 5

The Musical”, “Chicago”, and perhaps most famously (opinion only), “Sister Act”.

Known as the Queen of New Years Eve, she performed on New Years Eve 9x in

Sydney over the years.

Another title she earned was the first ever Queen of the Jungle, after winning “I’m A

Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here” in 2017.

From a shy teenager, Casey has transformed into an inspiring singer, songwriter,

actor, host, author, mentor, and role model.

She is an outstanding entertainer and absolute powerhouse, with a strong vocal

energy and sassy stage presence and this year she has been touring across

Australia, bringing to the audience her show “This Is Me”, a collection of music

covering her entire career.

Her resilience and authenticity have earned her a cross-generational fanbase and established her as a symbol of strength, perseverance, and passion.
