5-7 Year Old Creative Ballet Classes
Our 5-7 year old ballet classes introduce the foundations of ballet steps and technique. We teach this through creative movement, varied music and interactive props. From this early age we encourage the dancers to contribute their own ideas to the dance class, alongside learning steps from the teacher. This grows the dancers' confidence and allows each dancer a creative outlet. We provide a space where they can explore, learn and simply enjoy dance. Using this creative approach helps makes port de bras, tendus, sautes and plies become part of your dancers' vocabulary in a fun way!
We do not stick to one ballet syllabus, instead we take the best from them all, which means the dancers do not take yearly examinations. They are free to wear whatever they are comfortable in to class. We do not put anyone in a uniform, as each dancer has their own individual style and is free to be 100% themselves at all times in the studio. It is a very inclusive, supporting and fun space.
5-7 Year Old Jazz Classes
Our 5-7 year old Jazz class is a great class for beginners or for dancers wanting to try a new genre. This is a fun, upbeat and energetic style of dance. Many dancers who start with ballet add jazz on as a second genre when they are a little bit older. This class includes rhythm, jazz technique, combinations and choreography. Creative dances are also developed with the help of the dancers' imagination and props.
5-7 Year Old Contemporary Dance Classes
Our 5-7 old contemporary dance class is a great way for young children to explore the world of dance and movement. The class will focus on teaching young children the basics of contemporary dance, which is a style that combines elements from other genres including modern, jazz, and ballet.
Unlike many dance genres however that focus movements through particular parts of the body, contemporary dance movements tend to flow through the whole body. Contemporary dancers often perform in bare feet, moving on and off balance, expressing momentum, suspension, and gravity. Dancers will also begin to learn how to use their bodies to express different emotions and ideas through movement.
