Hydration while dancing

Did you know that your body is made up of approximately 60% water?

And when you dance your body will get rid of more water than you think so drinking water

before, during and after dance class is very important. When you drink water it gives your

muscles energy and helps them to recover, so if you are dehydrated you may feel tired and

that could mean that your dancing will not be as awesome as it usually is.

Your brain also functions better when you have been drinking water so it is important that

you give it what it needs to focus so that you can be the best you can be when you are

dancing. When you are dehydrated, your muscles can cramp which can cause injury, so it is a great idea to drink water during class to make sure that you are dancing at your best and as safely as possible. Water also works as a shock absorber so having a protective layer of fluid around your joints will help prevent injury. Have a drink of water before dancing and bring your own unique water bottle to class so that you can take a sip when you need it. Staying hydrated during dance class will help you stay energised so that you will be able to dance at your best.
